Are you lost at words when it comes to blogging?
Then read along, maybe the ideas in this post can help you find at least a tiny voice to give blogging a chance and make it work for you!
Blogging with confidence Tip #1. Show your own personality through your blog
While you may be reading successful blogs and may want to follow their writing style, so your blog is successful too, don’t.
It’s better to be YOU and not to copy others.
Yes, your first blog post and perhaps a few coming after the first one may not look that great. But in time and with practice, you will notice how you become a better writer.
Blogging with confidence Tip #2. Focus on who you can help
You will find your writing voice easier if you always focus on who you want to speak to, rather than writing for everybody.
If you are blogging (or would like to blog) for business, you either have a target customer base already or you have one in mind. Focus on writing for them.
For personal blogs, think about the people that you want to send your message to and imagine having a conversation with them.
Just write down what you would tell them in person.
Blogging with confidence Tip #3. Focus on how can you help
Stop thinking about how you have nothing important to say. This only keeps you stuck in analysis paralysis.
Instead, start gathering information about what can you write. Focus on how you can help by answering questions from customers, friends, and readers of other blogs that are in your area of expertise.
For example, we started this blogging with confidence series after collecting questions from a Facebook blog clinic hosted by Toronto Mompreneurs. We’re also asking constantly on our Facebook page and on Twitter what people need help with.
You can do the same for your blog and on the social platforms you are more active on.
If you have trouble finding your blogging voice, how can you shift your thinking so your writing voice becomes stronger?
Or what advice do you have for people who thing they don’t have anything to say?
