Are you using a call to action at the end of your blog posts? Is it the same all the time or do you vary it? What do you ask for? A tip, an answer to a question, an email, or a comment?
These are all interesting questions and I see way too often so many blogs and bloggers that have really great content, but fail to get comments, shares on social media, or more subscribers, simply because they do not ask for anything at the end.
So if you are at loss when it comes to asking for something at the end of your posts, read on for a few great ideas to try out.
You can use the same call to action over and over again or use a different strategy depending on the post.
Hey, you may even be able to add the same text automatically at the end of your posts. You can do this either through the code of your WordPress theme (if it allows it) or by using a plugin.
Here are 7 ways you may want to use calls to action.
1. To get more comments
Ask your readers to leave comments with their opinion on the subject discussed. This works great if the subject is general enough so almost anybody can contribute with a comment.
2. To get additional tips on a subject
Ask your readers to give you tips and advice on specific ideas in the post. This works great if your post is structured as a “top 5” or “best of” and is really targeted to your blog audience.
3. To get more blogging ideas
Ask your readers to tell you what they struggle with. This works great when you have not exhausted the subject of the post so your readers can tell you easily what they need.
4. To get more shares on social media
Ask your readers to share, tweet, or pin your post. This works great when your social media sharing buttons are right at the end, at the bottom of your post.
5. To get more blog subscribers
Ask your readers to sign up to be notified when your next blog post gets published. This works great if you have a series of posts and you build anticipation for the next blog post.
6. To get more email subscribers
Ask your readers to sign up for your newsletter. This works great if the contents of the post is closely related to the freebie you are offering as a gift for signing up.
7. To get more sales
Ask your readers to buy your a product you have for sale. This works great when, in your post, you present briefly one main idea that your product helps them with and then you end with the link where people can buy the product.
How do you usually end your blog posts? Are you asking a question? Or reminding your readers to comment or share your posts?
